Krista Cabanas is an independent film director with over five years of production experience. She also has varied experience in production and post-production roles for digital video (SD and HD) and 16mm films.

She completed her A.A.S. in Film & Video Communications from Seattle Central Community College and currently works in corporate digital media as a Media Producer for a global IT consulting company. As an independent filmmaker, she dedicates her time to Radio Tribe Productions - a Seattle based production team that has helped her realized many of her creative ideas, from action-packed shorts to video poetry.

Krista's career focus is Directing with a secondary interest in Photography. She prefers to work in a truly collaborative environment where her actors are given plenty of freedom to own their performance.

Some of Krista's favorite stories have to do about the future, especially "Mad Max" , "THX 1138", "Children of Men", "Minority Report", and Ron D. Moore's "Battlestar Galactica". She's been equally influenced by classic dramas such as Satyajit Ray's Apu Trilogy, Anthony Minghella's "The English Patient", Fritz Lang's "M (Morder Unter Uns)", and Carl Theodor Dreyer's "The Passion of Joan of Arc".

Her hobbies include creative writing, costuming & props, and escaping the city from time to time to go on long road trips.
